How to copy a Facebook video link

The Share button has a Copy link option. On a computer, the address is in the browser bar.

To download a video, ClipsKeep needs its exact address. In the Facebook app that address is tucked behind the share button, and it's easy to copy the link to a profile, a Page or a photo by mistake. This guide shows the right way on each device.

1. On your phone, tap Share on the video itself

Open the video in the Facebook app. For videos in your feed, the Share button sits under the video, next to Like and Comment. On Reels, it's the curved arrow on the right side of the screen.

2. Choose Copy link

In the menu that opens, look for the chain icon labelled Copy link. When you tap it, your phone confirms the link was copied. On some phones the option is tucked under More options.

3. On a computer, open the video before copying

In your browser, click the video or the post's date to open the video on its own. Then copy the address from the browser bar (click it and press Ctrl+C, or Cmd+C on a Mac). You can also click the three dots on the post and choose Copy link.

4. Check that the link points to a video

Facebook video links usually look like one of these:

If the copied link is just facebook.com/person-name, you copied the profile, not the video.

Do Messenger links work?

They do when they point to a public Facebook video. Videos sent as files inside a Messenger chat have no public link and can't be downloaded here.
